This is deeply personal and distressingly close to home. As a member of the Logan High School community, it is distressing to see that our very own David Henderson has been publicly displaying anti-immigrant and racist posters in his classroom. As was featured in the Salt Lake Tribune, these actions have caused profound harm and discomfort for many students and staff at Logan High. Despite months of complaints and loud pleas for change, the offensive material remained in place.

Racist and anti-immigrant sentiments have no place in our educational institutions, where diversity and acceptance must be cultivated and honoured. Not only does this violate the basic rights of students to a safe and respectful educational environment, but it also goes against the anti-discrimination policy outlined in the Utah State Board of Education Rules. This behaviour is not in line with the values of our community or the educational principles we uphold for our children.

Therefore, it is the timely and necessary call to dismiss David Henderson from Logan High School for his offensive actions.
