I am a resident of the Sundance community in Buckeye, AZ, fed up with the practices of our Homeowners Association (HOA). Time and again, funds collected from our homes are deployed in activities that bear no direct benefit to our community. Additionally, fines are constantly slapped onto us for age-old or trivial issues, causing undue financial burdens. To top it off, attempts to raise our concerns have been met with stonewalling or an aggressive pushback, involving their legal counsel, often extinguishing any hope for dialogues or resolution.

Many of us home-owners recognize this issue but are often left feeling powerless. The disregard of our rights to proper scrutiny of the usage of funds breeds mistrust and dissatisfaction. Every homeowner's association must abide by a fiduciary duty to its members, ensuring that decisions made are in the best interests of the neighborhood (Community Association Institute). In our case, we find this duty is often ignored.

We residents need an organization that works for our benefit, that treats our concerns with respect and empathy, and that operates transparently. We don't need to be left with a feeling of frustration when dealing with the body that we are supporting with our hard-earned money.

Through this petition, we, the distressed residents of Sundance, ask for your support in calling on the Arizona Department of Real Estate to investigate our claims and take appropriate action which might include dismantling the Sundance Homeowners Association.
