On behalf of the tens of thousands of Dish Network customers that purchase the ‘Punjabi Mega Pack’, which is a part of Dish’s impressive and much appreciated international channels selection, an urgent request is made to remove the PTC family of channels, namely, PTC PUNJABI, PTC NEWS, and PTC Chak De from this channel package.

The PTC channels are owned and operated by a political family in Punjab, India, that is engrossed in repressive, inhumane, and undemocratic treatment of its citizens. Just recently, the political family that owns and operates these channels under the banner of PTC, led a violent crackdown on innocent protesters, in which two protesters were killed, and hundreds more were seriously wounded. This political family has been involved in countless murders, extortion, and forceful takeovers of legitimately owned businesses and establishments in Punjab, India for many decades.

The continuation of these repressive tactics and events have forced the Sikh and Punjabi communities that subscribe to these channels to demand these channels be removed from the lineup of Dish offerings. Additionally, the PTC NEWS channel is used as a propaganda tool by the repressive regime. If Dish values its customers, who number in the tens of thousands for the Punjabi Mega Pack, and only supports channel owners that uphold American values of human rights and democratic values, then it is prudent that Dish acts swiftly on this request.
