Discord Account Banned

The Issue

On the 20th of August, around 8:00 AM when I woke up I opened up discord but to my surprise, it wouldn't let me log in as I was disabled from my own account. I went to my mail, where I had received a mail from Discord informing me that my account is going to be permanently banned due to a "sexual offense".

At this point I was confused, I don't recall sending any videos/topics related to sexual offenses but I may have watched a few sent by friends. I've even blocked those people who spammed my dm's with NSFW content servers.

At that point, even if I did send anything related to the sexual offense I apologize. I have apologized to discord for my actions, I wasn't aware of the guidelines as I haven't gone through them properly at that time. I can agree that it was certainly my fault, but a direct permanent ban isn't acceptable. Not only for me but for all the users who use discord.

I have been using discord for about 2-3 years now, I trusted it with my IP address, Privacy, Personal information, my whereabouts, and many more. I beg to differ, but they should have at least given me a warning or a temporary ban so that I could learn from my mistakes.

For discord,
From the above lines mentioned, I am sorry and I have apologized multiple times to your customer service agents but they were too intense about my appeal. Ban appeals aren't easy on discord, it is a downgrade for yourself. This isn't your first ban appeal either, there are many more on discord who violate the guidelines and this happens. It cannot be stopped since this is what our generation is about. Banning someone or one person won't stop this and as said it can't be stopped.

Instead, give us people a second chance if not a ban appeal. Why are we excluded from using your service? How is that the one message we post is against the guidelines and we get banned for it without a warning?

Please look over this. I'm not the only one who has suffered from this, there are many more in your own help section on the web page.

Sincerely,
Vic.
