As a fellow alum of John Jay College and a proud Bloodhound, my heart hurts seeing the college's name associated with New York City Mayor, Eric L. Adams. The actions he's taken are incongruous with the values we were instilled with at John Jay. I believe he has forfeited his privilege of being affiliated with the prestigious John Jay College and its alumna. Our college stands for principles Eric L. Adams has made light of, casting a shadow on our traditions and our accomplishments, and belittling our shared past. A college that prides itself on being "educating for justice," must not be associated with individuals who compromise these ideals. We implore the John Jay College Alumni Association to remove Mayor Eric L. Adams from its membership. My plea is personal, but it is also for the benefit of all. As alumni, we have a duty to protect the integrity of our institution and to uphold the values we cherish. We ask the Alumni Association to consider this carefully and to act conscientiously. Please sign this petition to maintain the sanctity and honor of our Alma mateer.
