Save Montauk’s St Therese Parish

Save Montauk’s St Therese Parish
The people of St Therese Parish in Montauk NY are truly saddened and heartbroken by a recent announcement that our Passionist Priests Father Bob and Father Edward may be leaving our parish. This is apparently based on decisions made by the Diocese of Rockville Center and subsequently by the Passionist Community. We have been blessed to have these 2 Good Shepherds leading our Montauk faith community for over a year now and it would be heartbreaking to lose them. Their work here has just begun but already they have brought us together in faith like very few priests have done for us before. We implore all the parties involved to find it in their hearts to seek out a resolution to this situation so that our small but devout parish community can continue to grow and walk the wonderful path that has been paved up till now.
Please sign our petition and share it with as many people as you can.
God bless you!
“…and they’ll know we are Christians by our love…”
October 2021,
Dear Reverend Bishop Barres,
We, the members of St Therese Parish, are the Church in Montauk. We are devastated at the thought of Father Bob's and Father Edward's departure. We
implore you to do whatever is necessary to keep them at our Parish. We respectfully request a meeting with you or an auxiliary Bishop at the earliest convenient date to discuss our concerns.
