Each meal swipe at Miami University is approximately equivalent to $6.50. We would like Miami University to convert at least a portion of our excess meal swipes into either a direct refund to the student or into declining balance. Many students with the suggested meal plan are going to end up with around at least 100 unused meal swipes that disappear at the end of the semester. This equals hundreds of dollars in loss to the students. The additional money could be used on other university related expenses or at a la carte dining stations through declining balance. We are just asking for a reasonable revision to the meal plan to make it more accessible and worth the money put in at the beginning of the semester.
