We were pleased to welcome Councillor Suzanne Gallagher and other community representatives to Malvern Road this week for a walkabout to see the condition of the street first-hand.
Following the visit, Councillor Gallagher has contacted Brent Council to challenge the longstanding lack of maintenance and question why issues reported through FixMyStreet have been marked as resolved when the problems clearly persist. She has also submitted photographic evidence to support these concerns.
But dignity for Malvern Road goes beyond street cleaning and maintenance.
While our campaign initially focused on the poor condition of the road, pavements and public spaces, we recognise that residents face other serious challenges, particularly persistent antisocial behaviour, drug dealing and drug use in the surrounding area.
Our campaign is about more than cleaner streets and better-maintained pavements. It is about ensuring that residents feel safe, that public spaces are respected, and that our neighbourhood receives the care and attention it deserves.
We hope this week’s developments mark the beginning of meaningful action, both on the physical condition of Malvern Road and on the wider issues affecting our community.
Thank you to everyone who has signed and supported the petition so far. Please keep sharing it!
