For the last 50 years the Lack of Animal Control in our community has created a need for accountability and has created a safety issue. Many members of our community have been facing aggressive animals that attack both people and other animals. It’s time to act as the People of the area to make sure we get the services promised to us and that are often cut very short or ignored. We pay taxes and expect our government to be as responsible and timely as we are to it. 

Answers in the community ranged from call the police or sheriff office and neutralize the aggressive animal as stated under TN Law § 39-14-205, 2(b). As a pet owner that could be horrific scene to hear your pet has been killed because of its aggressive behavior. All we have as a community is to get to know your neighbors, their animals, and hold others responsible for their animals behavior. If there’s a hole under the fence ask to patch it, find the small solutions. It is unacceptable the level of animal control in our community and there are numerous accounts of poor service.

Please sign this petition to inform the Animal Control office of the Dickson County Sheriffs Office, and local leadership to chip away at this problem by creating a network responsible for this service. Hire more Animal Control specialist, encourage community education for aggressive animal encounters, and build rapport within the community.
