I’m a resident and native of the town of Dickson, Tennessee. I was born in 1995, around the time that major water contamination was likely a factor that left a lot of the people in the area born with defects like cleft lip and cleft pallet. This fuel depot MUST BE STOPPED! The press tries to reassure us that the depot is FAR FROM CIVILIZATION, but this is a LIE! I have a 4 year old daughter who will be starting school this fall. The school she will likely be attending is Burns Elementary SCHOOL, LESS THAN 3 MILES FROM THE NEW DEPOT! There is also ANOTHER SCHOOL, Burns Middle, right down the road from the Elementary School. This is well WITHIN, WHAT I SUSPECT, WOULD BE THE EVACUATION ZONE for the depot. This proposed and in-process fuel depot will cause dramatic increase in tanker traffic on the city’s scenic roads that MANY PEOPLE LIVE ON. If and when any problems occur at the new fuel depot WATER SYSTEMS WOULD BE CONTAMINATED, SCHOOLS WOULD HAVE TO EVACUATE, ENVIRONMENTAL AND RESIDENTIAL PROBLEMS WOULD BE VERY DRASTIC! Please! Stand by me in this fight against GREED and OVERALL CARELESSNESS! Let’s let the mayor know that the SILENT MAJORITY DO NOT WANT THIS FUEL DEPOT NUISANCE!
