Our privacy is diminishing year by year, day by day. Many companies have been exposed to taking information from users they may not even be aware of. Soon enough, we might not be able to even have any privacy at all. I want to help sustain, and possibly increase the privacy rights that we as consumers deserve. 

Considering how widely popular social media is amongst many individuals today, I wish to focus on the Social Media Privacy and Consumer Rights Act (SB 189). This Act essentially protects user information and security, limiting loopholes in policies now. 

Hopefully, this petition can help bring awareness to Illinois Senators and join in support with others like Minnesota's and Lousiana's senators. An increase in advocacy can help it be passed as a bill, or at the very least, refer it to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation again. 

It needs to be made aware that we care about our privacy, and no one should take that away from us.
