Petition to expand the modding tools for Battlefront 2 2020!

The Issue

Dice, please expand your modding tools on for the frostbite engine on Battlefront 2. We understand you can't add the new content everyone is asking for, but if you give the modders some extra tools this game can ever grow and live on.

It's no secret that the community still loves your game DICE, they even went as far as starting a petition that has reached 15,000 signatures. While it is very unlikely you will ever return to this game with content, you can give players the tools needed to make content while you work on the bugs and issues.

Allow modders to create custom models and textures to make new content, rather than replace current content.

As of now modders must replace existing characters, reinforcements, blasters... to implement their modded versions. Giving them the ability to create entirely new models without replacing old ones could introduce entirely new heroes and reinforcements, ever-expanding this games roster. Ranging from simply creating an arc trooper with a dc-15a rather than dual pistols to an entirely new hero with custom abilities such as the 2nd sister. Even giving modders the ability to port blasters and star cards from the 2015 version, or just being able to give hero blasters and reinforcements blasters to infantry classes.

Allow Modders to have more map editing/creating tools.

The maps in of themselves are gigantic, and just with very basic modding freedom players could create new maps just using the out of bounds zones. But if they even more modding freedom, along with assets they could create entirely new map such as fighting among a downed venator on Geonosis. A map viewer and blueprint editor would allow for the creation of modded maps. Halo's 3 map creator was amazing, now imagine that with these stunning graphic

The importance of Mods.

If you want this game to live on for years to come, modding freedom is essential. Games like Minecraft, Skyrim and even the original battlefront 2 have become so popular and survived for so long thanks to the modding community. It's time for you to truly "hand it over to us", the community and give us the modding freedom we desire. It's already amazing what the modding community has done with their limited resources, imagine if they had access to more advanced tools?

Content Creators. Battlefront can't be supported forever, so even if you did decide to continue support it would eventually die, which means the death of content creators too. If modders had the ability to create entirely new heroes, maps, reinforcements, vehicles... content creators such as the large #of battlefront you tubers would have regular content to cover, keeping their channels alive.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5EsiIrTg7M its no secret they love the game.

Paves a future for Battlefront 3. There is no future for battlefront as of now, but modding can pave a road for it. Most downloaded mods, shows what players want in a sequel, but more importantly the mods will keep people playing battlefront showing we want a third, showing the Battlefront community is not dead.

Keeps the Community Active. A large number of people only stay connected to Battlefront for it's content drops, without them they will leave. Fresh modded content can keep players excited for mods to drop keeping the player base interested.

Private Matches and Console Players.
Private matches would further preserve the community, giving players across all platforms the ability to find matches long after this games death. Also Battlefront recreations and role play channels could have easier ways to play, and for competitive players tournaments would be much easier on private servers. Furthermore if modders get the tools to make new maps, heroes... the ability to play with others on private servers with modded content would be amazing.

The PS4 and Xbox players obviously cant download the mods, but what if maybe once a month you picked a top rated skin or maybe even a map and if their is a hero or reinforcement developed well enough (which should be possible if you give modders the tools they need) and ported them over to console once approved. Even if it's no where near being even close to the amount of content PC players would be getting at least console players would still have something to work towards.

Dice you created the frostbite engine, you received a game from certain death. EA has killed your game, but not the community. Give the modders the tools they need to keep this game alive for years to come.
