Requesting:  Family Adult Medical Signature Consent  Policy Form

Medical Signature Consent Policy to be changed for Adult Mental Illness Individuals

Change the age of 18 and over to Family Adult Medical Signature Consent Policy Form on those individuals who are in denial or unaware of their mental illness and allow their parent, spouse, or guardian to sign the consent form for that individual who is in denial or unaware of their mental illness.

This new Family Adult Medical Signature Consent Form will allow the individual's parent, spouse, or guardian to sign the consent form for their mental health issues so they can get quick medical assistance.

This changed signature form will allow the individual to get quick medical attention in the realm of being placed in a Medical Hospital Institution. Depending on the mental illness situation and state of mind of the individual. They will get quick assistance in getting evaluated, getting medication, be placed in a 30 -90 day medical living facility if needed. An individual can quickly be placed in a temporary living program where they can be supervised and to make sure medication is given to patients. A living program will help the individual to adapt to their independence, gaining back stability, clarity, and become productive in society.

Being a single mom and having a 33 year old son who is in denial of his Mental Illness is not only stressful but painful. To see my son become a different person  these past couple of years has been very hard.  Since my son is unaware and at the same time in denial of his mental illness he refuses to sign or voluntarily admit himself to get help. It hurts to see my son in denial of his mental illness because to him its real just like when we see or hear something it's real to us. When my son has major episodes due to his mental illness the police will be called but there is no law for them to take him to get mental behavior assistance unless he fits the profile.  When they ask him questions and he doesn't answer correctly they cannot take him to get help. They are restricted by law to further assist because an adult individual has to consent. The only way they can take an individual to get medical attention is when the adult individual volunteers to get medical attention or when an individual hurts themselves or others.

This is why it's important to change the age of 18 and over medical signature consent policy for adult mental illness condition to those individual's who are in denial or unaware of their mental health issues. This Family Adult Medical Signature Consent Form will benefit these individuals by getting quick response to medical assistance so they can become individuals of stability, become independent, productive in society, and return to having clarity in their minds again.

I am aware that  mental health issues have grown over these past few years and I am not the only one in this world who is dealing with a family member who has this illness.  Please, it's time now to make it easier for parents, spouses, guardian who are dealing with an adult mental illness individual who refuses to consent for medical attention. It's time to stop the restrictions and change the Medical Signature Consent Policy for adults with mental illness and allow us to start helping our loved ones get their medical attention that they deserve. For them to become productive citizens in our society!
