This year, you and 114,509 people helped stop Peter Dutton from removing mobile phones from the hands of people seeking asylum.

Your campaigning convinced the Senate to block Dutton’s cruel attempt to cut off detained people from the life-lines that keep them in touch with family, friends, lawyers, and advocates.

This came after years of fighting with the government’s lawyers in the courts, and thanks to the MASSIVE community response, together we forced the government to back down.

Now, we’re preparing for more legal battles with the Minister for Home Affairs, and we need your support.

On behalf of nearly 50 refugees and people seeking asylum, the National Justice Project is taking legal action against the government for its negligence and for breaching its duty of care to our clients.

But the government has tried to slow down the course of justice and further complicate our cases by appealing to the High Court, which could announce it’s decision any day now.

To learn more about what this decision could mean, click here.

The government put families in a horrible situation where they could not protect, educate, or care for their children’s health and well-being. That’s why we are fighting: to make the government legally responsible for the harm they caused.

But the government has deep pockets and enormous power. That’s why we need your support – to cover the legal costs of nearly 50 people that we are representing.

Donate today to show the government that we will not tolerate the torturous treatment of children!
