Support the movement to save Mother Diary, Kurla East !!!

Jaago Nehru Nagar Residents Welfare Association, Kurla East is calling on YOU (all citizens), to join us in a critical movement to protect our community from an unfair and impractical resolution that threatens our locality's well-being. The recent Government Resolution (GR) issued on 10 June 2024 by the Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, and Fisheries Department, headed by BJP Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, mandates the Dharavi resettlement at the Mother Dairy plot in Nehru Nagar, Kurla East. This decision does not align with the interests of our residents and was made without seeking our input or objections.

Originally, the plot for Dharavi resettlement was allocated in Mulund. However, after protests from Mulund residents, the authorities shifted this project to Kurla, disregarding our community's concerns. Despite having 550 acres of land available in Dharavi for redevelopment, why is Adani being granted additional areas from across Mumbai? This arbitrary decision raises serious questions about transparency and fairness.

Our local MLA, Mr. Mangesh Kudalkar, has been representing our interests since 2021, advocating for our concerns with various government authorities. He understands the mindset and needs of the people of Nehru Nagar, Kurla East, and his input should have been given due consideration in any decision-making process affecting our community.

In January 2024, during his speech at Kurla Mahotsav, Hon. Chief Minister Shri Eknath Shinde promised the residents that the Mother Dairy plot would be allocated for a sports complex and a garden, reflecting the residents' desires. He instructed MLA Mangesh Kudalkar to coordinate with the MMRDA Chief to complete the necessary paperwork. However, within just four months, the government issued a GR for the handover of Mother Dairy to Dharavi resettlement, contradicting the Chief Minister's promise.

We, the residents, feel betrayed and angered by this sudden change. The Mother Dairy plot, with its 800-900 fully grown trees, serves as one of the biggest green lungs in Mumbai, providing essential oxygen and cleaning harmful gases from our environment. Transforming this green space into a resettlement area will severely impact our quality of life and destroy a vital ecological asset.

 

 

We propose to utilize this 21-acre plot for a sports facility and a botanical garden, which would greatly benefit our community, already struggling with infrastructural challenges due to increasing residential complexes. On one hand, the government promotes tree-planting initiatives, and on the other, it plans to cut down fully grown trees for development.

Our movement stands under the banners of "Dharavi Prakalp Hatao, Kurla Bachao!!!", "GR Hatao, Kurla Bachao!!!", and "Awaz Uthao, Hak Bachao!!!". We need your support to amplify our voices and ensure our demands are heard.

मदर डेअरी, कुरला पूर्व वाचवण्यासाठीच्या चळवळीला समर्थन द्या !!!

समस्त नागरिकांना आवाहन करतो की, आमच्या स्थानिक रहिवाशांच्या कल्याणासाठी धोकादायक, अन्यायकारक आणि अव्यवहार्य ठरावाविरुद्ध सुरू केलेल्या महत्त्वपूर्ण चळवळीत सामील व्हा.

१० जून २०२४ रोजी कृषी, पशुसंवर्धन, दुग्धविकास आणि मत्स्यव्यवसाय विभागाने जारी केलेला ताज्या ठरावानुसार (जीआर), भाजप मंत्री राधाकृष्ण विखे पाटील यांच्या नेतृत्वाखालील, धारावी पुनर्वसन नेहरू नगर, कुर्ला (पूर्व ) येथील मदर डेअरी प्लॉटवर करणे अपेक्षित आहे. हा निर्णय आमच्या रहिवाशांच्या हिताशी जुळत नाही आणि आमचे विचार किंवा आक्षेप विचारात न घेता घेण्यात आला आहे.

मूळतः धारावी पुनर्वसनासाठी मुलुंड येथे प्लॉट देण्यात आला होता. मात्र, मुलुंड रहिवाशांच्या विरोधानंतर, अधिकाऱ्यांनी हा प्रकल्प कुर्ला येथे हलवला, आपल्या स्थानिक रहिवाशांकडे दुर्लक्षित करून. धारावीच्या पुनर्विकासासाठी ५५० एकर जमीन उपलब्ध असताना, अदानीला मुंबईतील अतिरिक्त क्षेत्र का दिले जात आहे? पारदर्शकता आणि निष्पक्षतेविषयी गंभीर प्रश्न उपस्थित करणारा हा मनमानी निर्णय आहे.

आमचे स्थानिक आमदार, श्री. मंगेश कुडाळकर, २०२१ पासून आमच्या हितसंबंधांचे प्रतिनिधित्व करत आहेत आणि आमच्या समुदायावर परिणाम करणार्‍या कोणत्याही निर्णय प्रक्रियेत त्यांचे मत विचारात घेणे आवश्यक होते.

नेवारी २०२४ मध्ये, कुरला महोत्सवात आपल्या भाषणादरम्यान, माननीय मुख्यमंत्री श्री एकनाथ शिंदे यांनी रहिवाशांना मदर डेअरी प्लॉट स्पोर्ट्स कॉम्प्लेक्स आणि बागेसाठी दिला जाईल असे आश्वासन दिले होते. त्यानुसार, माननीय आमदार श्री. मंगेश कुडाळकर यांनी MMRDA प्रमुखांसह समन्वय साधून आवश्यक कागदपत्रे पूर्ण करण्याचे निर्देश दिले. मात्र, अवघ्या चार महिन्यांतच, सरकारने धारावी पुनर्वसनासाठी मदर डेअरी हस्तांतर करण्याचा जीआर जारी केला, मुख्यमंत्री महोदयांच्या आश्वासनाच्या विरोधात.

आम्ही, रहिवासी, या अचानक बदलामुळे फसवलेले आणि संतप्त आहोत. मदर डेअरी प्लॉट, ज्यात ८००-९०० पूर्ण विकसित झाडे आहेत, हे मुंबईतील दुसरा मोठे हरित फुफ्फुस आहे, जे आमच्या वातावरणातील हानिकारक वायूंचे शुद्धीकरण करते आणि आवश्यक ऑक्सिजन पुरवते. या हिरव्या जागेला पुनर्वसन क्षेत्रात रुपांतर केल्याने आमच्या जीवनाच्या गुणवत्तेवर गंभीर परिणाम होईल आणि एक महत्त्वपूर्ण पर्यावरणीय संपत्ती नष्ट होईल.

 

 

 

आम्ही या २१ एकर प्लॉटचा वापर क्रीडा सुविधांसाठी आणि वनस्पती उद्यानासाठी करण्याचा प्रस्ताव ठेवतो, ज्यामुळे आधीच वाढत्या निवासी संकुलांमुळे पायाभूत सुविधांच्या आव्हानांचा सामना करणार्‍या आमच्या समुदायाला मोठा फायदा होईल. एकीकडे, सरकार वृक्षारोपणाच्या उपक्रमांचे प्रचार करते, आणि दुसरीकडे, पूर्ण विकसित झाडे कापण्यासाठी इलेक्ट्रिक आरी घेते.

आमच्या चळवळीचे बॅनर आहेत "धारावी प्रकल्प हटवा, कुरला वाचवा!!!", "जीआर हटवा, कुरला वाचवा!!!", आणि "आवाज उठवा, हक्क वाचवा!!!". आपला आवाज वाढवण्यासाठी आणि आपल्या मागण्या ऐकल्या जाव्यात यासाठी आम्हाला तुमच्या समर्थनाची गरज आहे.
