The Issue

As pet owners, we love traveling with our dogs, but the 4-hour crossing between Newhaven and Dieppe is currently a stressful ordeal for both animals and their owners. Under current regulations, dogs must be left alone on the dark, loud car decks for the entire duration of the journey.
Car decks can become incredibly cold in the winter and dangerously hot and stuffy in the summer. For many dogs, being trapped alone in a vehicle surrounded by car alarms and unfamiliar noises causes severe anxiety and distress.
DFDS already recognizes this need on other routes. For example, their Dover to Calais service features dedicated, comfortable pet-friendly lounges. We love using the Newhaven to Dieppe route, but we are asking DFDS to extend this standard of animal welfare to the Côte d'Albâtre and Seven Sisters vessels.

We are calling on DFDS to designate a small, secure area on the passenger decks as a pet-friendly lounge or designated pet zone, allowing passengers to sit with their dogs safely on a lead.
Please sign this petition to show DFDS that pet welfare matters to their customers, and that a pet lounge is a vital addition to this 4-hour crossing!
