Mumbai's busiest business district that sees a huge number of vehicles pouring in everyday is dealing with huge traffic jam since the time the Lower Parel bridge has been shut down.

The Lower Parel bridge which was built in 1921 was shut down on 24th July 2018. As the Western Railway and BMC are busy fighting over who will reconstruct the bridge, the common man is the one who is suffering on daily basis. As the bridge connects to a commercial hub in Lower Parel, a lot of commuters use to travel from this bridge which is now closed. Lower Parel station has a footfall of 1,50,000 passengers and close to 75,000 use the station every day. Daily, lakhs walk between Lower Parel station on Western Railway (WR), Currey Road on Central Railway (CR) and N M Joshi Marg to reach offices in the surrounding areas. The office- goers have to take a long route due to the shutdown. There are traffic snarls in Elphinstone and Lower Parel area as the bridge is shut.

Sign our petition as we request the Chief Minister to get the Lower Parel bridge rebuilt by the concerned authorities immediately.
