Move out Dahisar toll booth to Ghodbunder to decongest Mumbai's Western Express Highway
The Issue
Every day the Mumbai commuters face a daily hardship of crossing the traffic congestion caused due to the Dahisar toll booth on Western Express Highway. On some days the traffic jam extends right up to Fountain Inn on Surat highway to Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Borivali, i.e. for multiple kms. The most inconvenienced are the residents staying in Borivali, Dahisar, Mira Road, Bhayandar, Thane, etc.
The best solution to this traffic jam problem is to move the Dahisar toll booth to Ghodbunder to ensure smooth traffic movement on the Western Extress highway for Mumbai residents. All previous and current politicians have been saying that the Dahisar Toll booth will be relocated as its a major bottleneck, but no action taken till date.

With the noise and air pollution levels rocketing, we need concrete action plan on moving this toll booth to Ghodbunder to ease out the daily traffic congestion faced by Mumbaikars. The NHAI, Maharashtra Govt, MSRDC, MCGM, Union Transport Ministry all the main stakeholders here. MSRDC and MEPL continue to extract Toll from the daily commuters without providing any relief for the users.
We cannot wait any longer to have this resolved.
