Lonar crater is formed by a monstrous Meteor some 50,000 years ago in a place called Lonar itself in Buldhana Dist of Maharashtra state in India. This is a almost 2km diameter & 500 feet deep Bowl with Salt water like Sea. It has its own Flora & Fauna & its own ecological system. It is believed that the Celestial rock is under the base of Lake which keeps the water Saline.  

This is second largest crater in the world found in besalt rock & biggest in India. It has ancient temples built around it. Its unique place in all respects.
