Dear friends ,

Myself, Dr Sagar Mundada has written to Chief minister asking for one uniform age of 21for drinking any kind of alcoholic beverage in Maharashtra..

1.Presently, wine which has more alcohol content can be consumed at18 while beer which has lesser alcohol content cannot be taken till 21. This law promotes harmful drinking..

2.presently, the law says that hard liquor can be consumed only after 25years of age.. According to recent study by Organisation for economic cooperation and development, the percentage of under 15 boys who have not had alcohol has gone down from 44 to 30 percent and for girls,it has decreased from 50 to 31 percent.

this clearly shows that the age of25 is totally impractical.. As a doctor, I feel it is my responsibility to oppose it as many youngsters are becoming addicts because of these baseless policies.. Your support in this very important social cause is necessary..

Please do sign this petition and help regulate and encourage a culture of responsible informed drinking if at all, one has to drink..
