Problem statment

Colossal waste of a massively beautiful facility in Balewadi Pune - Olympic size swimming pool (s)  - All the swimmers that you see in the above picture are not able to swim in Balewadi anymore because of one reason or another. Plus notice how empty the other pool is. 

1. There are only two such facilities in India - One in Delhi and one in Pune

2. The pools are open from 6 AM to 9 AM and then 3 pm to 6 pm - This is a big waste of such facility because 6 AM to 7:30 AM and then again from 3 pm to 4:30 PM there is hardly anyone swimming in there because the times are not suitable for school going kids. Effectively krida prabodhini and other serious swimmers can only swim for 1 hour 30 minutes in the morning and evening. 

3. The authorities lock up the pool at 6 pm and simply go away. Compare this to Tilak Tank in which serious swimming happens starting 6:30 pm and continues to 9:30 PM. 

4. There are four pools in in the facility with only one head coach and 2 sub coaches which are not enough at all. In addition they totally discourage other coaches to come and coach there. 

5. The result is that even though very talented swimmers from all over maharashtra come and swim here (krida prabodhini and others), they dont win anything in Nationals or even state level competitions. 

What I am hoping to achieve

1. Keep the pools open throughout the day epvecially from 6 pm to 9 pm because school going kids can only practise seriously during this time. 

2 . Encourage (and not only allow) private coaches to come and coach there. This will ensure healthy competition amongst coaches and swimmers and they will show results in the district, state and national competitions. And hopefully some day in International competitions.
