Those of us that were raised in Texas demand a return to the classic fine dining, dancing, and entertainment options that blessed the Dallas metro in the 1990’s. Before Californians, developers, and the like came in and squeezed out the remaining establishments that made Dallas, Dallas and Texas, Texas. Trail Dust was a family friendly steakhouse, honky tonk, and semi-amusement park all rolled into one. Have we as a Metroplex lost our way welcoming In-and-Outs and Capital Grilles with open arms, while abandoning the very foundation of Texas fine dining that created so many memories for us natives? We are now unjustly forced to brainstorm places to eat that offer wholesome country dancing, T-Bone steaks, a Steel Guitar, and a 30 ft slide. Well guess what? THERE ARE NONE. Trail Dust was a unicorn among Olive Gardens and it’s time for this great staple of Texas culture to return to Dallas once and for all. Trail Dust was ours, and out of towners were frequently confused and complained of the noise levels. It was beautiful. That is why, I’m starting this petition. The time is now to bring back Trail Dust so natives of this great state have a place to seek refuge, and enjoy delicious steaks/loaded baked potatoes while listening to a live band and kids screaming.
