I would like to update some latest highlights of Moosomin, Saskatchewan and Thompson, Manitoba:

Moosomin, Saskatchewan now offering $30,000 to anyone who builds a home there | CBC News: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/moosomin-saskatchewan-housing-initiative-1.7294887

The increasingly busy and multicultural Moosomin town in Saskatchewan wants to be a model for small-town growth. Now, this rural Saskatchewan town is offering $30,000 to anyone who builds a home there, according to a CBC News. This offering in cash to anyone who builds a home there is an incentive that's generating a lot of buzz and a flurry of interest from people looking to move there and could offer lessons for other rural communities trying to grow and retain their populations. But, Moosomin having had agriculture and Potash mining at its proximity, has all the essential ingredients to become a mid-sized city, given all levels of governments pay attention.

Thompson, Manitoba looking to diversify its industries

Thompson is the largest city and most populated municipality though with just about 15 thousand residents in Northern Manitoba, and is 761 km north of the City of Winnipeg.  The northern remote city is connected by all weather road and rail and by the third busiest airport in Manitoba. Thompson boasting of being founded on a large and high-grade deposit of nickel, its nickel production peaked in 1970s at over 60,000 metric tons annually, though had declined to 23,000 metric tons in 2017. Thompson has the promise as future a city hub when the Port of Churchill is developed as fully operational seasonal port for shipments of mining and agro-industrial products through the Arctic.  Currently, Thompson is looking to diversify and rebrand from a mining town to being a tourism hot spot and the hub of the north for services such as education and health care.
