On behalf of many devout Detroit Lions fans, 

We think its best for the Lions organization to bench Matthew Stafford indefinitely and force him to formally apologize for his subpar performance over the last two seasons. 

Staffords recent accomplishment, breaking Dan Marino's record as the fastest QB in NFL history to reach 20,000 passing yards, is an acheivement that grossly misrepresents Staffords recent performance. Matthew Stafford has had more passing attempts in the past three seasons (2010-2013) than any other QB in NFL history; adding to that he has the most dynamic recieving core in the league this season and has had arguably the best WR to ever play the game throughout his entire career (Calvin Johnson). With those kind of passing attempts, those kind of weapons, and a 6 foot 5 target who has the wing-span of a two car garage, Mark Sanchez could have easily broken Dan Marinos record. Matt Stafford has lost all composure, hes started to develop happy feet, and he moves in the pocket like a rooted giant seqouia. Stafford may have some pep left in his step but recently hes become a liability, it's time for him to ride the pine. 

Passing yards is only a small part of the Quarterback equation, here are a few less-than-notable Quarterbacks who have a better career passer rating than Stafford: Shaun Hill, Matt Flynn, Mike Glennon, Zach Mettenberger.

The Detroit Lions should have one of the most explosive offenses in the league, but we lack a QB with composure. Sign the petition, save the D's offense!
