We, the undersigned Detroit community members demand that the Detroit Board of Police Commissioners continue to allow public comments via phone and Zoom.

This gives Detroiters the much needed option to access their elected officials especially when:

• Residents have medical or mobility issues that make it difficult to come in person.
• Residents that don't have transportation or can't afford gas.
• Residents with high civic engagement that attend multiple meetings that overlap. 
• Resident that have to juggle their civic engagement with home responsibilities (kids, elderly care, homework, meal prep, etc.)
• Residents that have been traumatized by police and fear coming to Police Headquarters. 
• Residents that live with certain mental health conditions like social anxiety.
• Residents that are temporarily out of town.

Please don't discriminate against these valued community members. KEEP PHONE / ZOOM PUBLIC COMMENTS!!!
