Detengamos los paseos en caballo fatales por Sevilla (English ver. in description)

�� - ¿Te gustaría que te atasen y te forzasen a pasear a 38º, hidratándote una vez cada tres o cuatro horas?
Es una pregunta algo bizarra, lo sé. A menos de que te vayan las cosas raras, lo normal es que digas que no. Y es algo que no le desearías a nadie.
Pues bien... ¿y si te contase que esta es la realidad a la que se enfrentan centenares de caballos en la capital andaluza cada verano?
Para muchos turistas nacionales e internacionales, la imagen que se vende del paseo en calesa por Sevilla es la experiencia perfecta: recorrer sin esfuerzos las calles sevillanas en su más andaluza esencia, por un precio módico si lo comparas con lo que conllevaría dar vueltas ante el sofocante calor que asola la ciudad cada verano, y que cada vez llega más temprano.
Sea por ignorancia o bien por crueldad, muchos prefieren esta alternativa. ¿Crueldad? Sí. No te olvides que el carro no va a motor. Esos pobres caballos cargan con el peso de un carruaje, trotan durante horas en condiciones denigrantes, sin recompensa alguna.
En los sitios web donde se ofrece este servicio, tratarán de excusarse alegando que el recorrido dura solo 45 minutos. No se añade a ese periodo las esperas en sitios que para nada son sombríos, y que estas pobres criaturas a veces son sometidas a jornadas que llegan a las 8 horas, incluso más.
Y empresas como Naturanda no piensan en detener este servicio. Siguen ofreciéndolo y exaltándalo como una experiencia única; el ayuntamiento hispalense es cómplice de este maltrato al no hacer nada por criminalizar este negocio. Y es que la temporada de paseos ya ha comenzado, y ya se ha cobrado su primera víctima (Fuente: advertencia, imágenes sensibles) Estamos a 15 de abril, quedan cinco meses de calor por delante. Ya el año pasado fueron tres las víctimas solo en temporada de Feria.
Yo, redactor de esta petición, soy un particular consciente de la denuncia del partido PACMA y la apoyo incondicionalmente. Pero debido a la fraudulenta ley electoral española, el alcance de esta petición se verá limitado al no tener dicho partido representación electoral. No me voy a quedar de brazos cruzados.
La finalidad de esta petición es que llegue a las oficinas de San Telmo, y que se fuerce el cese de esta actividad en Sevilla y en todas las localidades andaluzas en las que se ofrece. Y siendo optimista, ojalá y llegue más lejos, y demos voz a estos animales oprimidos por la regresiva cultura española, en la que se vitorea el asesinato a sangre fría de un animal. Hagamos más y mejor.

It's a daft question to ask, isn't it? Unless you were into weird stuff, you wouldn't only say no, but also you wouldn't wish that upon anyone around you.
And what if I told you... this is the situation that a hundred of domestic horses face yearly in the Spanish city of Seville?
Local business offer the service of being shown around in chariots, selling it out as "an unforgettable experience in an unmatched essence". Tourists are lured into acquiring these services as an alternative to walking up and down the extensive city centre under the scorching sun, with local businesspeople taking advantage of their ignorance and their feelings of disorientation.
How about an appeal to common sense? Have we forgotten who powers these chariots? No, it is not an engine. It is a horse, riding under inhumane conditions. These creatures trot up and down the city with no reward to be given.
Websites offering this service make up the conditions these animals work in, never mentioning that a horse may be forced to cover up to ten rides per day, what would equal to seven and a half hours (or even more) of non-stop riding. For additional context I will attach a forecast with the average mean temperature in Seville year-round:
And this is not going to stop. Businesses like Naturanda, ran by greedy human beings who couldn't care less for animal welfare, keep on promoting this activity. And the local city council has made itself an accessory by not penalising this activity. And as I'm writing this (16th April), there already has been a tragedy. A horse passed away in Seville April's fair on Monday. (Click here for source. Warning: Sensitive imagery, viewer discretion is advised) Only in last year's April Fair, lasting a week, the lives of three horses were taken away. But they aren't more than pieces of flesh for those who run the business. The victims of this business are uncountable and nothing is done to prevent it.
As the writer of this petition, I am aware of a campaign started by the Spanish Animalist Party (PACMA) to abolish this business. However, as a young translation student, it breaks my heart to see that this huge moral breach is not getting further away than the border. And the rigged Spanish electoral laws will not allow this party into the Senate (nor the Parliament) despite having a considerable amount of votes that would be more than enough for other parties to get a seat. So I decided to take action.
Despite I am just a rather unknown individual on social media, I am determined that this will get the attention it deserves. Spain as a whole is way behind of any Western country in terms of animal protection. The murder of innocent bulls is cherished all around the country. I am hopeful, perhaps too optimistically, that with its English translation, these atrocious news will reach bigger audiences, and it will be supported until it reaches the regional Parliament, and action is taken against this miserable way of earning money. And dreaming bigger, it may even get to the national Parliament, and all these animal killers will be held accountable. Let's be the voice of those who can't articulate a word.
