For final-year E&E students, the journey towards graduation is both exhilarating and daunting. The pressure is immense, and every moment spent in a conducive study environment becomes crucial. Unfortunately, the current situation at the Japie van Zyl area has become a significant challenge.

This space is ideally meant for final-year students to engage in focused study and collaboration as they work towards completing their programs. However, it has become increasingly occupied by third-year students, leaving final years struggling to find the quiet and dedicated atmosphere they desperately need. This lack of availability compounds the stress of final exams and can affect the academic performance crucial for their future.

Adding to this issue, during the exam period, seminars are frequently held in this area. This not only creates disturbances but also reduces the available space for those who need it the most. It's time for a change.

We urge the university administration to designate the Japie van Zyl area exclusively for final-year students and to relocate any seminars during the exam periods to alternative locations. By doing so, we can ensure that our final-year students have the opportunity to study in an environment that supports their success and wellbeing.
