Music can touch and transform lives, as was certainly the case with Alexi Laiho from Children of Bodom. He was more than a musician to many of us in Espoo and around the world; he was a source of strength and inspiration. Like countless fans, I found solace in his music during my toughest times, and losing him so young was heartbreaking.

Alexi Laiho, born in Tapiola, Espoo, became one of the most respected and internationally acclaimed figures in the metal music scene. He co-founded Children of Bodom, a band that put Finland on the global metal map with their unique blend of melodic death metal. His legacy endures in the powerful music he created and the thriving metal community he helped foster. We wish to honor his contributions and memory.

I propose that the city of Espoo name a street in his honor, either in Tapiola where he was born, or (obviously) near the Bodom lake area. Such a gesture would not only immortalize his influence and highlight the significance of music and art in our culture.

This petition serves to bolster the official petition, which may be signed only by Espoo residents. It is a call to action to all those who were moved by Alexi's work, both locally and globally, to show support for this initiative. By honoring Alexi Laiho with a dedicated street, we acknowledge his role in inspiring and uniting fans from all walks of life.
