Carson King is a young man who carried a sign to ESPN’s popular show College Gameday that stated “Busch Light Supply Needs Replenished” with his Venmo account information. When he continued to get donations he decided to donate the money to a children’s hospital. A reporter at the DSM Register dug into this local hero’s Twitter page and found an 8 year old post that he/she deemed “offensive” and because of that a young man, who to date, has raised over $1.14 million for the Stead Family Children’s Hospital at the University of Iowa was forced to make a public apology after being humiliated over something he posted when he was 16 years old. This is not only wrong but completely unnecessary and uncalled for and The Des Moines Register needs to issue a public apology for trying to berate and shame a young man whose goal was to do something truly amazing.
