Reinstate Deb’s Dogs’ Prison Program at Allen Correctional

The Issue

Despite this training program resulting in the adoption of more than 1,000 dogs (over 10 years), as well as benefit to participating inmates, Cory Smith, deputy warden of Allen-Oakwood Correctional, has terminated Deb’s Dogs’ prison program. We respectfully ask warden James Haviland to meet with Deb Helser directly, to consider evidence which will be provided to him of the program’s benefit to inmates and community, and ultimately to reinstate the program.
