Snare in Ns need to be banned

The Issue

Currently the only regulation around snaring in New Brunswick & Nova Scotia is that a snare must be 300 meters from a dwelling, this includes an occupied home, school, place of business, gym etc. There are currently no regulations on how close a snare can be to public roads and trails. This poses a serious threat to not only household pets but children. Also, there are currently no regulations supporting using signs to warn the general public about the location of snares. Snares are purposely designed to stay hidden and therefore the untrained eye would never be able to see one. Increasing the regulations on both signs and distance from public roads and trails is an easy fix to keep our New Brunswick communities safe while still enjoying nature. Please sign today to help us make a must needed change! Each year, household pets are severely injured or worse lose their lives to these devices and there is a very simple solution to decrease that risk.
