Dear friends and supporters,

Thank you for signing this petition. With over 125,000 signatures, our movement has already drawn public and media attention.

I have formally contacted the leadership of The Chicago School, including President Sean B. Harden and Vice President Olga Bautista, regarding Mr. Eissa Hashemi’s employment and affiliation, requesting clarification, transparency, and an ethical review. So far, no response has been received.
Collective action is crucial. If many of us contact the school’s leadership, it will pressure them to provide a clear and public response. I ask you to contact them directly and request clarification.

You may email them at:

Below is a sample email you may copy and send. You are welcome to edit it or write your own message. What matters most is that they hear from many voices.

Please follow us on Instagram at iranpetition2026 and on Twitter at soloriderx for updates, verified information, and future actions.
Also, please sign the latest petition to deport Zeinab Hajjarian, daughter of Saeed Hajjarian.

Dear President Harden and Vice President Bautista,

Many Iranians are currently examining individuals living and working abroad who have close ties to the Iranian government. One such individual is Mr. Eissa Hashemi, the son of Ms. Masoumeh Ebtekar, a former spokesperson for Iran’s revolutionary forces during the 444-day U.S. Embassy hostage crisis back in 1979, and a long-time senior official of the Islamic Republic. Mr. Hashemi has never publicly separated himself from or disavowed his mother’s actions or legacy.

It has come to public attention that Mr. Hashemi has been working as an Adjunct Faculty member in Chicago. Many in the Iranian community find it concerning that individuals with close family ties to a regime responsible for serious human rights violations may hold positions within respected academic institutions in the United States.

I respectfully ask whether Mr. Hashemi is currently employed or affiliated with your institution. In recent days, his photograph appears to have been removed from the institution’s website, which has raised questions. I kindly request that his background and affiliations be reviewed and that appropriate and ethical decisions be made regarding any continued collaboration.

We are actively identifying individuals with ties to the Iranian dictatorship who live safely abroad while the Iranian people continue to suffer. Our intention is not to make unfounded accusations, but to seek accountability and ensure that institutions do not unintentionally provide legitimacy or professional platforms to those connected to crimes against humanity.

For your reference, I will attach a link to a public petition outlining these concerns, along with articles from independent news outlets that have reported on this matter.
