FILIPINO Students, Don't lean it's time to clean! AR-U-GO?
The Issue
Before, our world was free from trash and fresh. Having healthy and clean atmosphere was visible. The bodies of water were clear, the lands were free from trash. But after destructions by humans, it was a disaster. After those wars happened between countries and followed by the increasing improper attitudes of people that causes destructions.
Attitudes like being lazy, irresponsible, and not disciplined well are increasing day by day. One of the factor is the way they think about janitors. These people are concern and responsible to keep the environment or a certain place clean. This idea is very known to everyone, specifically students. Because of this idea, students become lazy and carelessly to their trashes. This is an issue that we want to address and change for the better.
Cleanliness starts from our home when we were still young. It helps us to be discipline when it comes from keeping the surroundings clean. We can carry this practice until we grow old. Students were taught how to clean their trashes ever since their grade school day. Students were also taught how they can segregate their trashes from biodegradable to non-biodegradable and its significance.
According to BEScleaning when you think about factors contributing to a student’s academic success, a clean school environment probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. However, research shows that school cleanliness does affect students’ academic performance and success. In fact, cleanliness is so important to productivity that it is considered one of the top 4 most important building elements for a school or learning environment.
From another research, ’to be clean be healthy’, School is a place where one can learn so many things. It helps the students to grow up into a responsible person. Today, some school grounds are full of litter and debris that they resemble a garbage dump more than a place to play or exercise. Students should help to keep them clean and beautiful. They should be a role model for others to keep cleanliness.
Recycle bins must be placed at various places in schools to promote recycling of waste among students, teachers and other employees. Children in the school can be encouraged to put waste in appropriate bins so that they develop a habit of disposing of waste properly.
Cleanliness is not an act that we should put under pressure. This is a good habit and healthy way for our good healthy life. All types of hygiene are very important for good health, whether it is personal, the surroundings, or the environment. All of us should be very aware of how to maintain cleanliness in our everyday life. We want to encourage discipline in this society.
Schools that adapt “CLAYGO” are the following; Ateneo De Manila University. Naval State University, De La Salle State University, and Adamson University. Let us grow the adaptation of CLAYGO in all schools in the Philippines, able the students to practice discipline and love for our surroundings. ‘ https://www.facebook.com/ClaygocLeanAsYouGo/ ‘ is one of the links that promotes CLAYGO from Naval State University.
It is both the abstract state of being clean and free from dirt, and the process of achieving and maintaining that state. According to the teacher’s digest “Cleanliness and order are not matters of instinct; they are matters of education, and like most great things, you must cultivate a taste for them,” said Benjamin Disraeli, a famous British politician. The students shall know the "CLAYGO", which means "clean as you go". We can help maintain cleanliness by improving our discipline by each and every one of us. Start with us, as students in this institution.
