The senior high school students of Quezon City Science High School wake up very early every weekday in order for them to attend their first class at seven o’clock. Most students wake up five o’clock in the morning, and others wake up earlier than that time due to the school’s distance from their respective houses. Heavy traffic has been always situated on main roads which adds more time to the travel time of each students. In the effect of this, many members of the school (students, teachers, and staff) will be late, which happens every school day. Another reason for this to happen is that many members of the school would wake up late due to their late sleep caused by workloads. With these things in mind, the petitioners have theorized that the number of late comers will always be large because of the conventional class schedule. The petitioners would like to petition to change the time scheduled from 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM to 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM, except Mondays through an online petition.
