Police are apart of an inherently racist and violent system within the United States and they simply uphold white supremacy on DePauw’s campus. They have proven their negligence for the safety of all students, primarily students of color, time and time again as they refuse to take racist incidents seriously. I also feel the need to mention they have done nothing to put an end to sexual assault on campus. Their presence does nothing but intimidate and impose fear upon our students. They are no longer needed and their funding should be allocated to making DePauw a safer and more inclusive place for everyone.
