Whitchurch is facing a loss of another of its vital services, namely the driving test centre, trying to get a driving test booked at this moment in time is difficult enough and now they want to close a test center, it makes no sense.

Gaining a driving licence is of vital importance to this age group, it opens doors of opportunity for them, it means they can gain employment which without they would not be able to do, we only have to look at the shortage of HGV drivers in this country, they all had to start somewhere.

Students would have to travel further afield to another centre to take a test, this will result in higher cost's, and of course time, I have Students who finish school then go to work in order fund gaining a driving licence, and this is how they are thanked?

The closure of this centre would have a detrimental effect to the younger generation, not only in financial terms but also the carbon footprint would increase as Students would have to travel further, this makes no sense as our government keep banging on about how we all need to reduce carbon emissions this closure would only increase it.

We need to keep this centre open and action needs to be taken now, I urge you to sign this petition and by doing so you will helping to keep one of Whitchurch's vital services open.
