Have you ever received footage in your Twitter or Facebook feed of a dog screaming in pain being cooked alive tied to an open grill in China? Or the image of the Labrador with one hind leg skinned and the other being sliced open lying panting and whimpering fear etched on it’s face . You realise when both back legs are skinned his whole skin will be pulled off him like a jumper and he will finally die in agony . 

Well this is the very same country Mars Foods (and others) choose to make their Pedigree and Whiskas brands. Yes, you are feeding your dog food made in a nation that tortures dogs for cultural pleasure. Do you want to be part of that? 

Pets at Home know this (they told me), but happily promote their image as animal lovers and sell dog owners product that  adds to the economy of this vile regime .

China has extended its tentacles everywhere. They are entrenched in our daily lives but if we can link trade bans directly to their disregard for the suffering of the dogs at the meat festivals we will at least have taken the first step 

I am calling on the department of trade to stop imports of pet food product and a boycott of Mars and Pets at Home until this cynical trade stops and a message is sent to China that this barbaric practice will not be confined in the United Kingdom
