Thirsty? Disposable plastic bottles are a convenient way to feel hydrated and cool, but after drinking, where will you throw the empty plastic bottle? Anywhere, secretly disposing to a place where no one can notice or leave it somewhere? These cases have been one of the big troubles in our environment that continuously destroying our planet Earth.
So why are you here? Concern also about the worsening damage of plastic bottle in our planet Earth? Well, it's time to take an action for that. Production and disposal of plastic bottles negatively impact the Earth's resources, environment, public health and even humanity. Some of disposable water bottles' most harmful effects occur before they actually exist while they're still being made.
- Plastic bottles are made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) which takes 1/4 bottle of oil to produce a single one. In the process of making, 2.5 million tons of carbon dioxide are release into the atmosphere every year.
- Bottled water creates serious danger when it comes to the size of our landfills, as well as the conservation of our water resources and marine life.
- Around the world, one million plastic drinking bottles are purchased every minute, and half of all plastic produced is designed to be used only once and then thrown away. It can take 450 years or more to decompose.
- Water bottles contain chemicals like BPA and antimony that can cause reproductive issues, asthma and dizziness. Also, bottled water is tested for microbes and other water pollution four times less than tap water.
This petition is made to let you realize how plastic bottles destroy the place we live in. Instead of improperly disposing plastic bottles, we can reuse and recycle them to protect world's wildlife, environment and people. There are lots of alternatives that can replace this problem such as the usage of reusable water containers and tumblers.
