The Sterkfonteindam has been closed since the start of the pandemic.  There is no reason not to reopen the dam for recreational purposes like fishing and boating. 

The dam and its recreational facilities have been a big tourist attraction and have been the bread and butter for many a fishing guide and tourist guides.
