Request to extend the Urban Growth Boundary
Hi folks,
Thank you for supporting our campaign to save Tranmere from becoming a US style mega-Unit development.
The Developers will require a significant change to the Urban growth boundary to allow their plans to take place. This means 400 houses in what was previously approved for 12 x single dwelling large environmental allotments on the top of the hill. Our primary focus remains to consider your comments and raise these with Council. DPZ (the developers) already have a plan in place if this does not get extended.
Council Alderman will be the first stepping stone for any proposed changes to the Urban Growth Boundary. We encourage you to reach out and express your concerns directly with Alderman and the Mayor. We believe no changes should take place to the Urban Growth Boundary which is in a 25 year Land use plan (2010-2035). You can read more about this at https://planningreform.tas.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0009/559791/Southern-Tasmania-Regional-Land-Use-Strategy-2010-2035-Effective-19-February-2020.PDF
We will also be inviting the Mayor to an online Public meeting towards the end of November and encourage everyone to monitor our FaceBook page for updates and the link.
Thanks again,
Mike Fawcett
