Let the Public Health Department consider reopening Bistak Grocery Stores in Saskatoon.

Let the Public Health Department consider reopening Bistak Grocery Stores in Saskatoon.
The Issue
We are aware of the closure of Bistak Afro Caribbean Stores as a result of mice infestation of food items in the store. The Store owners have been working on removing the affected foodstuffs and cleaning up the store and warehouse. We hereby appeal to the Public Health department in Saskatoon to consider the following as it affects the community Bistak Afro Caribbean Store serves.
1. The store has been closed for almost two months. We are aware that the Public Health department has been working to get rid of the infested food items.
2. Bistak Afro Caribbean Store has been the source of Afro Caribbean grocery needs for more than ten years, in Saskatoon and other cities in Saskatchewan. Since the store closure, we have been denied access to our native foodstuffs especially during the last Christmas and new year festivals.
3. The presence of Bistak Afro Caribbean Store has encouraged many Nigerians and other African immigrants to choose Saskatchewan as their homes in Canada because of its services to the community as a source of native foodstuff from Africa.
