Stop future bear hunts in the Upper Peninsula!

Stop future bear hunts in the Upper Peninsula!
The Issue
The black bear is a magnificent creature and they do not deserve to be killed! Unlike wolves, bears are not responsible for even one death, in the wild, in the Upper Peninsula, in the history of record-keeping! They are omnivores that act like herbivores. Unlike deer, there is not an overpopulation of black bear in the U.P.
The methods that hunters use to hunt bear are inhumane. The use of bear traps and bear dogs is not true hunting, cruel, and causes untold suffering of very large and beautiful animals. The injuries they receive from gunshots that don't actually kill them, injured legs from traps, and exhaustion from being chased, cause mean bears, who are otherwise docile animals.
At a time when they are trying to fatten up for a long winter's nap, they are being chased, ruthlessly, and if they are not killed, they have lost all their fat needed for hibernation. Bear dogs and traps cannot differentiate between a momma bear, a cub, or a pregnant mother, until it's too late!
The only time there is a problem with bears in town is when the hunters drive them there in their efforts to escape their killers!
There is no good reason to kill a bear! The Upper Peninsula was their home before it was ours. The U.P. was made for wildlife!
Please say no to future bear hunts in the U.P. We love our bears!
