For many years now, the biggest problem faced by Indigenous People is the claim to their ancestral domains and lands. Many large corporations take advantage of the fact that most Indigenous People lack the proper education to fight off unfair takeovers of their territories or lands. What’s even more disappointing is how the government allows these takeovers to happen, when they should be the ones protecting and securing the rights of the Indigenous People.

VISION:
Through our petition, we envision to empower the Indigenous Cultural Communities in the Philippines. As their empowering accomplice, we envision them to be protected by their rights that are perceived and respected by the nation. In this way, unity within the country can be achieve.

MISSION:
Indigenous Peoples have unique ways of life, and their worldview is based on their close relationship with land. The lands they traditionally use and occupy are critical to their physical, cultural, and spiritual vitality. Our primary mission is to create and implement policies, plans and programs for the recognition, promotion and protection of the rights and well-being of Indigenous Peoples to their ancestral domains and lands, as well as their natural resources upon which they depend their survival.

The objective of this petition aims to:

1. Become socially-aware for both the government and the nation about the current situation that the Indigenous People is experiencing at hand.

2. Support the Indigenous People regarding their plea about the rights they deserve.

3. Find a solution to avoid other political leaders and big corporations in getting what is mainly for the Indigenous People.

4. Preserve the culture and tradition of such ethnic tribes.
