  We, Melania and Nicolae Pervu, proud American citizens by naturalization, legal Romanian immigrants, residing at 26 Maple St. Oneonta, NY 13820 since 2015, are victims of abuse of power, discrimination for our immigration status and political orientation, and harassment. Under false pretenses our tenants were ordered by the court to be evacuated in two days by code enforcement, police and the sheriff. There was no evidence of a carbon monoxide leak in our property, documents that prove our innocence were filled in the court but because our lawyers asked to withdraw without reason (had no idea why) the judge didn’t check our documents and ruled for an evacuation in two days.

        Our tenants were chased Nazi style, had no time to pack their belongings, their furniture still stored in their apartments, which is incredibly hard to believe but true. We had no chance to a trial because of the corruption at the highest level in Otsego county. We need help! We need a federal investigation to stop this corruption that has been happening for decades.

          Since 2015 when we become the owners of former Oneonta hotel, a hundred-year-old building located on downtown Oneonta. The city of Oneonta administration and Otsego county, who were part of the closing, and got over $200 k on unpaid taxes and fees and fines, never disclosed the information about the building not being safe or in compliance with the code, the building was rented but since we took over they started to give us fines and fees, all were from 1992, 1989, 2012, 2014, fees and fines that were paid at the closing. Because I appealed all of them the city started to declare the building unsafe despite all the inspections we have that are up to date, all systems were updated and working (new fire alarm installed in 2016, new electric panels replaced the old ones, new sprinkler heads replaced the old one, new boiler for heating, new appliances, renovations done, new floors installed, etc.) they continued with harassment and in June 2018 they opened an action in court to ask the judge to evict our tenants. 

         I complained to the FBI agency, and an agent came and took all the documents but there is still no answer. We must be back in court on March 20, 2019 but no one wants to represent us. We are very disappointed about the way justice works and we need assistance as soon as possible. Please help us. God bless you and this wonderful country.
