It has been nearly 7 years since the murder of Tamir Rice by Cleveland Police officers. On Wednesday May 12th we will have the opportunity to hear from his mother Samaria about who he was and how his life and death impacted her and her family.
His is a human story, a child's story, a story of Black America, and one that has impacted each of us in different ways. We would like to invite you to consider the following questions in preparation for Wednesday's Up to Us: Awareness Day event.
How has Tamir's story affected you, your family, and community? What have been your options for action? What have you been able to do? How have you responded physically, emotionally, mentally?
After we hear from Ms. Rice, we will have the opportunity to dialogue in community and share our responses to these questions. Then, we will hear about the strategy of this renewed campaign, and sign up to take action in support of Ms. Rice's efforts to win justice for her son.
Please don't forget to register to save your seat for this powerful event.
