Ms. Rice Request for Letter of Support
Timothy Loehmann murdered my 12 year old son — Tamir Rice — less than one second after arriving to Cudell Recreation Center with the brake lights of the patrol car still on. The Cleveland Police Department never terminated Loehmann for the murder of Tamir but fired him for lying on his job application. Cleveland’s police union president, Jeff Follmer, immediately appealed the decision and is trying to get him back on the force. We can’t let this happen. Loehmann should never have been hired, and he should never have been in a position to take Tamir’s life. It is time for us to hold police officers accountable for violence inflicted on our communities, and stand up against the police unions who protect them.
