Steve Glynn started this petition to Department of Infrastructure

We the undersigned object to the proposed removal of 60 on-street parking spaces from East and West Quay in Ramsey as part of the regeneration scheme proposed by the Department of Infrastructure. No additional provision for parking will be made to replace these spaces, instead the DOI propose to reduce the time you can currently park in the Albert Road and Plaza car parks from 23 hours in any 24 hour period to just 3 or 4 hours in any 24 hour period.

Ramsey’s USP (Unique Selling Point) is the availability of free, on-street parking. This change will not only severely reduce the level of on-street parking within the town but will also remove the vast majority of long term parking within the town's car parks. This long term parking is relied upon by both local residents and people who work in the town’s businesses and shops. These changes will also impact people with mobility issues and parents with prams who again rely on being able to park close to the shop or business they are visiting.

We ask that the DOI reconsider their plans and retain as much of the parking on the quayside as possible, preferably all of it.
