Please allow me to stay with Timothy in Australia

My name is Chau and I am a mother to a 4 year old Australian child.

My former husband (Trung) and I met each other as we were participating in charity events in Viet Nam in 2013. We fell in love and we were married in March 2015. In April 2015, Trung returned to Australia so he can arrange for my visa application to migrate to Australia. A week later, Trung passed away.

When I came to Australia, I discovered I was already 2 months pregnant. Our son, Timothy was born in December 2015. Australia is the only country he has ever known.

An application to remain in Australia so I can permanently look after Timothy, however the Department of Home Affairs (the Department) refused my application. An application for review was then made to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) in 2017.

In September 2019, the AAT also made a negative decision. A request is now made to the Minister of Home Affairs seeking his intervention so I can stay in Australia to look after Timothy.
