West Coast untouched beauty & safety. Stop Aquaculture Farm

West Coast untouched beauty & safety. Stop Aquaculture Farm
The Issue
The development of an aquaculture salmon farm on the South African west coast coastline involve the building of concrete dams, drilling of boreholes into our already under threat aqua-fir, erection of huge wind turbines, building a new power line, extraction of sea water and dumping of waste back into the ocean and the erection of an industrial fish slaughtering facility. It also makes provision for establishing an industrial fertilizer plant. Big scale excavations will be performed to enable the fish dams to be build sub-ground level.
This industrial development will be detrimental for not only rare coastline fynbos but also for bird life (specially Black Harrier) and nature in general. It has to be stopped before commencement. The scarring of the unspoiled beauty of the west coast is too high price to pay for the production of expensive fish and oysters for the privileged rich people of the world.
