Revise the K-12 program implemented in the Philippines

Revise the K-12 program implemented in the Philippines
The Issue
We are senior high school students of Mapua University and this petition is to address the K-12 system being implemented in the Philippines. The K-12 system is meant to train us senior high school students the skills required for us to work without the need of a college degree and the system was also implemented in order to reach the international level of education. The problems we saw in this system is as follows:
- Only a few employers seek to hire senior high school graduates, for a high school diploma will not get anybody anywhere, because business firms will not simply hire senior high school graduates.
- Due to the quick implementation of K-12, the different educational institutes in the Philippines does not have enough facilities and personnel to cope up for the millions of students.
- The current budget of the government is not enough to sustain the educational needs of the students facing financial problems, so many will be forced to either stop continuing the system or continue it but will not be able to enter college and start finding for jobs that only few will be lucky enough to acquire.
- K-12 was just presented to the Philippines recently to obtain an international level of education but even before that Filipinos were accepted in prestigious universities around the world even with only 10 years of basic education and our graduates have already proven themselves competent while lacking 2 years of education, so basically we are only following what the rest of the world is doing when we have been able to do them all along with 10 years of basic education.
- Most of the population in the Philippines suffers from financial problems, many students have been and are currently being dropped due to the fact that their parents can no longer sustain their education.
Despite the fact that the K-12 system is meant for the students to obtain an international level of education, the system is not meant for the students to acquire a job, even college graduates and degree holders have a hard time looking for jobs in the Philippines, so how could mere high school graduates compete with them?- so basically
the K-12 system is meant for Filipinos to work abroad seeing as there are currently few employers in the Philippines willing to hire senior high school graduates so we have come up with some proposals that should be able to benefit both parties involved:
· Replace the subjects within the system, to be more precise have different subjects for the students who opt to work after high school and the students who opt to enter college (Calculus and Chemistry wont exactly help a senior high school graduate working in a business firm customer service).
· Let Students learn a few basic fundamentals they will surely need when they are older(mostly how to fill up documents like; insurances, passport, license, voter I.D., and the sort) in order for them to be prepared for their time, and leave the specialized subjects in college when the students decides to get a particular degree.
· The Philippines does not have enough industries to support K-12 graduates without a particular degree, so basically only a few employers would hire these students unless a bill would be passed that every company in the Philippines should be required to accept a population of student given that they pass the company standard for a senior high school graduate.
We have need of your help to voice out this matter to the Department of Education in order for them to heed our cause and make necessary arrangements to change this system given the need for it
We hope for your support and understanding of our cause
